When a Flexicovers Partner secured a project to provide protective floor coverings for a large superyacht, Flexicovers was brought in to provide the technical expertise and manufacturing capability needed to deliver it.
The brief was to create made-to-measure canvas deck runners with specialist non-slip backing, providing protection across multiple areas of the yacht.
From Yacht to Manufacture
General assembly drawings were provided, but accuracy was essential. The Flexicovers development team travelled to the yacht to review the layouts, digitally measure key areas and create bespoke templates.
Back at our UK manufacturing facility, the information was converted into Computer-Aided Design files ready for production. Using our CNC cutting and welding facilities, each section was precision manufactured before moving through to our skilled sewing and finishing team.

Approximately 250 metres of Sunbrella fabric was used, together with a range of specialist backing materials.
With the yacht working to a fixed onward schedule, there was a small window in which to complete the project. From survey and digital development through to manufacture and preparation for dispatch, Flexicovers completed the project in approximately four weeks.
